Decorative Paint Rollers Decoroll - A Heathier Alternative to Wallpaper.

Most types of wallpaper are covered with PVC (or vinyl) for better durability. PVC (poly-vinyl-chloride) is produced from vinyl-chloride, a harmful chemical, that cause rare types of cancer in factory workers producing PVC. PVC itself is a quite hard plastic, often used in production of pipes. Additives added to PVC make it softer and more flexible. This kind of PVC is used in production of many household items, among them thin film used for wallpapers. There are various additives added to PVC to make it softer, most frequently used are phthalates. A finished PVC product off-gasses these harmful chemicals (vinyl-chloride and additives) in our homes. Inhaling such chemicals may cause eye and skin irritation, and allergic symptoms. Formaldehyde is also one of the substances that off-gasses from wallpapers, as well as other household products. Exposure to formaldehyde causes similar symptoms as exposure to PVC off-gasses.

To improve your indoor air quality you have either a choice to buy a all natural wallpaper or use low VOC paints to decorate your walls. To make patterns on your wall easily, use paint rollers Decoroll. You can not only create your own design, but also improve indoor air quality of your home.

This is to introduce our company. Following posts will be focused on sustainable home design.

Marin's majestic beauty and peaceful lifestyle attracts many artists. Jozef Kiss was one just so smitten: he moved here quite spontaneously after a short visit in 2009.

He had finally decided to come from his native Slovakia to visit his daughter, who had been living in San Rafael already for a decade. During his stay he became fascinated with Marin's natural environment, enchanting ocean coast, and abundance of art galleries.

Painting and fine art have been Jozef's passion ever since childhood. But his decorative painting business in Slovakia usually left him precious little time to actually paint paintings. His Marin vacation gave him the chance to indulge his passion, and that was how he fell in love with California, capturing its wonders on his canvases. Having thereafter decided to bring both his passion and his business to America, Jozef returned to the U.S. in 2011 with a green card in his pocket, and for two years he has been creating art work for walls, furniture, doors, and windows.

Can you remember the fashion of patterned walls in '70s and '80s? It was quite big in Europe too. Those patterns on walls were made with decorative paint rollers. Using decorative paint rollers was a common technique of European painters, as the demand was huge. But there were very few such rollers available, and like other painters, Jozef had trouble purchasing them. Being both very creative and resourceful, he decided he'd make some himself for his own use. Then it turned out that his coworkers really liked them too, so s

Seeing this demand for paint rollers, Jozef decided to manufacture some himself. He become the only manufacturer in former Czechoslovakia and one of the few in Europe, designing more than 200 patterns. During his career as a decorative painter, he learned various techniques such as woodgraining, stenciling, painting murals, and marbleizing. Today, he is also one of the few decorative painters offering Japanese sand plaster -- a natural material which has a grainy texture. It can be combined with stencil patterns and produces a glittery effect. This is a wonderful option for people who like natural finishes. Similarly, by using paint rollers instead of wallpaper, Jozef can create a practically VOC-free wall decoration that can be simply painted over later rather than needing to be discarded.

Jozef's repertoire covers the spectrum from murals and paintings, to furniture, door, window antiquing and decorative finishing. Fusing his old-world training with his new-world surroundings has reenergized both his fine art and his commercial endeavors. Turning clients' ideas into reality and transforming their homes into palaces of artistic effects has indeed become Jozef's new passion.
